Stichting Kinderhulp Indonesië (S.K.I.) in Amsterdam is dedicated to providing better opportunities for children living in desa's (villages) around the town of Jogjakarta on Java.
» S.K.I. supports the children by providing schooluniforms and schoolbooks.
» S.K.I. raises also the standards of hygiene at the schools, by improving the sanitary and water facilities and by introducing lessons in hygiene into school curriculums.
Considering the extent of the problems faced by children in third world countries, the work of S.K.I. may seem to be no more than a drop in the ocean. However, S.K.I. is convinced that for every child who is given the chance of a better and more humane existence, the effort is well worth it!
